Forever a Teacher

As I’m sure I will explain in more detail in an up and coming post, I left the classroom in December 2016 to pursue a long dreamed goal of creating educational curriculum for online sales.  In my years as a teacher, I loved creating fun, interactive learning units for my students and I dreamed of having the time to devote to building the units to share around the world.  That was never going to happen, at least for me, while being in the classroom full time because I spent literally all of my spare time working on ways to create an even better learning experience for my students.  They were my heart.

Late last fall, an opportunity arose and I decided to take a leap of faith and jump in.  Now, I am beyond blessed to spend most of my days researching and creating wonderful learning units that educate the whole child.  There is so much need out in the teaching world today and I knew that I had some ideas that just needed to be developed that could possibly help.  I am so excited to watch this journey!

And, for many years, I dreamed about starting a blog.  I just never did because I was so busy teaching full time and raising our girls.  But, with God’s prompting, provision, and encouragement, I decided that it was time!  And not only was it time to start one blog, but two blogs instead!  Yep!  Crazy, I know, but I am following what God is asking me to do.

One of my blogs will be all about teaching and the knowledge and wisdom that I gained while in the classroom for over 13 years as either a full time teacher or a substitute teacher.  My educational blog will be for teachers, but for parents as well because I believe wholeheartedly that you, the parent, are your child’s first, best, and most influential teacher.  Step into any classroom.  You will see that your kiddos model you in many, if not, every way.  I know!  A scary thought, but the point is:  you are teaching your child and you are important.

Now, this blog will be a personal blog.  I am so excited to have an avenue where I can share all that God has taught me in Faith – Family – and Healthy Living over the years.  I just love all three so much!  I am so passionate about all three.  I have learned that all three are like a perfectly balanced stool.  They must be in balance or the stool will collapse and we will fall.  I am hoping that my thoughts and experiences might bless someone out there.

So, I guess you could say that I will be sharing/teaching about many things through these two blogs.  Teaching.  I love it!  I guess I’ll forever be a teacher in some way.

I am so excited to share this journey with you!

And just some food for thought:

A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of

curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils.

Ever Garrison

And, never forget, we are all teachers.  Let’s share our wisdom wisely with our children, neighbors, family and friends!

I look forward to sharing with you again!

Til then – Blessings – Nikki
